The fundamental difference
CloudConvert and FreeConvert are upload services: your file travels to their servers, is converted there, and comes back. That architecture is why they have file-size caps, daily limits, queues, accounts and paid tiers — servers cost money per conversion. InfyTool runs the same class of engines (FFmpeg, pdf-lib, libarchive, MozJPEG, Tesseract OCR — compiled to WebAssembly) inside your browser. Your file never leaves your device, which is why there are no size caps, no daily limits, no queue, no account and no watermark — not as a promotion, but structurally, forever. You can load any tool, switch off your internet, and keep converting.
Where InfyTool is simply better
Privacy: contracts, IDs, bank statements, voice memos, personal photos — none of it should transit a third-party server to be converted, and here none of it does. Speed on big files: a 300 MB video trims in under a second with our lossless trimmer, before an upload service would have finished receiving it. Limits: batch 500 images, compress a 200 MB PDF, OCR a 60-page scan — nothing meters you. Cost: everything on this site is free, including the things they paywall (long videos, big files, batch).
Where they are honestly still better
Fairness matters more than marketing. Choose CloudConvert or FreeConvert when you need conversions that genuinely require heavyweight server software: PDF→Word/Excel/PowerPoint with faithful layout, ebook format conversion (EPUB↔MOBI↔AZW3), CAD formats, RAW camera development, or transcoding a feature-length video (our in-browser encoder runs at roughly the clip's own length — fine for clips, slow for movies). They also offer an API for server-to-server automation, which a browser tool by definition cannot be.
The overlap — 70+ tools where you don't need them
Image conversion and compression (PNG/JPG/WebP/AVIF/HEIC/TIFF), the whole PDF kit (merge, split, organize, sign, compress, OCR), audio conversion and ringtones, video convert/trim/merge/ compress, the GIF suite, Excel/CSV/JSON, RAR/7Z→ZIP, fonts, plus tools they don't have at all: background removal, lossless EXIF removal, screenshot redaction, screen recording — all with the file staying on your device. Try the one you came for; the homepage picker routes any FROM→TO pair to the right tool.
