Threshold image

Split a photo into two flat tones at a brightness cutoff — great for stencils, logos and line art — on your device.

Thresholded on your device — nothing is uploaded

Runs in your browser. Files are never uploaded — you can go offline after the page loads.

How to use the Threshold Image

  1. Drop a photo — the editor opens automatically.
  2. Drag the threshold; pick the two colours.
  3. Download a PNG (transparent optional) or JPG.

Easy to use

Drop files, pick options, download. Whole folders at once, no signup, no daily limit.

Best quality

The same engines the professionals use — SVGO, resvg, MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif — compiled to run in your browser.

Private & secure

Files are processed on your device and never uploaded. Close the tab and nothing remains anywhere.

Two tones, one clean cutoff

Thresholding sorts every pixel into one of two tones by brightness — everything above the cutoff becomes the light colour, everything below the dark one. It is the foundation of stencils, silhouettes, single-colour logos, screen-print separations and clean line art. Drag the threshold to find the split that keeps the detail you want.

Choose any two colours, invert the result, or make the dark side transparent and export a PNG. It all runs on a canvas in your browser — nothing uploaded. For a smooth greyscale instead, use black & white.

Frequently asked questions

What is thresholding used for?

It reduces an image to two tones at a brightness cutoff — the basis for stencils, silhouettes, single-colour logos, screen-print separations and clean line art.

Can I keep a transparent background?

Yes — turn on the transparent option and download as PNG; the dark side becomes see-through.

Is my photo uploaded?

No — it is processed on a canvas in your browser.

Your files never leave your device

Most online converters upload your file to a server. InfyTool ships the actual encoders to your browser as WebAssembly instead, so processing happens inside your tab — faster for batches, and nothing to delete afterwards.

  • No upload, ever. Turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads and every tool keeps working.
  • No limits. No file-size cap, no queue, no watermark, no account.
  • Runs on your CPU. Batches use several cores in parallel; nothing is throttled.
