Printers need pixels, not centimetres: at the standard 300 dots per inch an A4 sheet is 2480×3508 px, US Letter 2550×3300, a business card 1050×600 and an 18×24 in poster 5400×7200. This page renders your image into each of those frames and writes the DPI into the PNG or JPG, so Word, InDesign or a print shop’s software opens it at the correct physical size without guessing.

Use Fit with a white background to keep a photo whole with margins, or Fill for edge-to-edge prints (add 3 mm bleed by choosing a slightly larger custom size if your printer asks for it). Export PNG for graphics and text, JPG at 95 for photographs.

How many pixels is A4 at 300 DPI?

2480×3508 pixels (210×297 mm). A3 is 3508×4961, A5 1748×2480, A6 1240×1748. At 150 DPI, halve those numbers.

Does the tool set the DPI in the file?

Yes — pick 72–600 DPI under Export options and it is written into the PNG (pHYs chunk) or JPG (JFIF header), so software reads the intended print size.

What size is a Print a4 portrait in 2026?
