Where extracted text goes
Quoting a contract, feeding a document to a translation or AI tool, indexing reports, reusing copy from an old brochure — plain text is the universal interchange. Extraction runs on pdf.js in your browser, so confidential documents stay on your device.
The scan caveat, up front
A PDF made from Word, a web page or an export carries a real text layer and extracts perfectly. A PDF made by a scanner is photographs of pages — there is no text in it to extract, and reading it requires OCR, which this tool does not do yet. If you get the "no selectable text" message, that is what happened. For page images instead of text, use PDF to JPG.
