How the icon sheet generator works
Drop a folder of SVG icons. They are sorted by file name, fitted into equal cells on a grid, and labelled with their names.
Adjust columns, icon size, gap, background and labels and the preview updates instantly, because the sheet is itself an SVG
document assembled in your browser — each icon becomes a nested <svg> with its original
viewBox, so nothing is rasterised until you ask for a PNG. Files never leave your device.
Getting a good sheet
Columns — 8–12 suits most sets; use fewer with larger icons for detailed illustrations.
Icon size — 48–64 px shows outline weight clearly; 24–32 px mimics real UI size and is the honest test of legibility.
Recolour — paint all icons one colour to compare shape and weight without colour noise; turn off for multi-colour sets.
Background — try the sheet on dark as well as light; icons that vanish on one of them need attention.
Title — adds a heading, useful for versioned previews (“Outline set v2 – 240 icons”).
Exporting
Download PNG renders the sheet with your browser at 1–4×; 2× is right for screens and marketplaces, 3–4× for
print. Download SVG gives you the vector sheet, which opens in Figma, Illustrator or Inkscape as a single
artboard and prints at any size. To fix colour inconsistencies the sheet reveals, use the
SVG Color Changer; to publish the set for use on the web, build a
sprite.

What is an icon sheet for?
Reviewing a set at a glance (spotting the one icon with a different stroke weight), documenting an icon library, preparing preview images for marketplaces like Creative Market or Envato, sharing a proof with a client, or printing a reference. Because labels are the file names, the sheet doubles as an index of what each icon is called.
PNG or SVG output?
PNG at 2× is the safe choice for uploading anywhere — marketplaces, chat, slides. SVG keeps every icon as vectors, so it prints at any size and can be opened in Figma or Illustrator as one artboard for further layout. Both are generated from the same layout; the PNG is rendered by your browser at the scale you choose.
Why recolour the icons?
Sets that rely on currentColor or arrive with mixed colours preview inconsistently. Ticking Recolour paints every fill and stroke (except none) in one colour so the sheet shows shape and weight, not colour noise. Leave it off for multi-colour or flat-illustration sets.
How many icons can I put on one sheet?
Hundreds are fine — the layout is computed instantly. Very large PNGs (say 40 columns at 4×) can exceed what a browser canvas allows; if a download fails, reduce the scale or split the set into two sheets. The SVG has no such limit.
